It was set up in 1915 by a progressive group of senior executives of large companies and public service organisations with the Principal Object of promoting, and developing for the public benefit, the Science of Administrative Management in all its branches. The IAM has an EIGHTY-SIX YEAR RECORD in supporting professional managers, especially in the field of Reward Management - 1915
Founders met regularly at the London School of Economics. Its aim is to promote and develop 'best practice', mainly through alliances and partnerships in the UK and across the World; to encourage the attainment of professional qualifications and, through conferences, publications, products and materials enable members to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques in the field of administrative management. Administrative Management is about managing information through people. INFORMATION is central to all management
